Juba, July 18, 2025 – The Bank of South Sudan (BoSS) has successfully concluded a five-day intensive workshop on the Risk-Based Approach to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Financing of Terrorism (CFT), marking a key step toward bolstering financial oversight and regulatory compliance in the country.

The training, attended by staff from BoSS and the Financial Intelligence Unit, focused on equipping participants with practical tools to enhance risk-based supervision and align with international standards.

BoSS Governor, Hon. Dr. Addis Ababa Othow, encouraged participants to put their newly acquired knowledge into practice, stating that their role is vital in transforming the institution and strengthening the financial integrity of South Sudan.

The workshop featured joint sessions led by Dr. Majok Kuol Mading, Acting Director General for Banking Supervision and Financial Stability at BoSS, and Mr. Godwin Ssenyonndo, On-Site Unit Manager from the Bank of Uganda.

Together, they underscored the importance of a risk-based supervisory approach to effectively combat money laundering and terrorism financing.
