Bank of South Sudan Inaugurates Governor’s Official Residence
Juba, South Sudan – March 30, 2024
The Bank of South Sudan (BOSS) officially opened its new governor’s residence today. The project, initiated in 2022 and completed in March 2024, aims to provide a permanent official residence for the bank’s governors.
Honoring Past Leaders and Looking to the Future
During the ceremony, Governor Alic expressed his gratitude to his predecessors, Hon. Moses Makur and Hon. Johnny Ohisa, for their instrumental roles in bringing the project to fruition. He stated, “We are proud to open this residence today, a testament to the vision and dedication of past leadership.”
Minister Encourages Public Support for Economic Growth
The Minister of Road and Bridges, Hon. Simon Mijak, addressed the gathering, urging citizens to contribute to South Sudan’s economic growth. He emphasized the importance of utilizing the country’s water resources for agriculture, promoting self-sufficiency, and generating export revenue.
A Symbol of Progress and National Pride
Concluding his remarks, Minister Mijak commended the Bank of South Sudan’s leadership and highlighted the upcoming construction of the bank’s new headquarters, envisioned as a landmark national building. “This new headquarters will be a source of pride for South Sudan,” he declared. “It will demonstrate to the world our nation’s capability to achieve remarkable feats.”
