Central Bank, Agriculture Ministry Discuss Cooperative Alliance Launch
Juba, April 29, 2026- Governor, Bank of South Sudan (BoSS), Hon. Johnny Ohisa Damian, and Acting Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Lily Albino Akol held discussions on Wednesday ahead of the launch of South Sudan Cooperative Alliance conference.
The meeting highlighted the strategic importance of the Alliance, scheduled to be officially launched on 12 May 2026. The initiative is expected to strengthen cooperative-driven economic development, support community enterprises, and promotes inclusive growth across the country.
Hon. Lily formally invited Governor Ohisa to attend the launch, emphasizing the role of the financial sector in supporting cooperative and agricultural development. The two officials also reviewed areas of cooperation to expand access to financing for cooperatives and agribusinesses.
