Central Bank Governor Highlights Progress in World Bank-Funded 3SF Project

Juba, September 1, 2025 – Hon. Dr. Addis Ababa Othow, Governor of the Bank of South Sudan, has highlighted key achievements under the World Bank-funded project, Strengthening South Sudan Financial Sector (3SF), launched in 2024.
Key milestones include the establishment of the Institute of Banking and Finance for professional training.

The project has also facilitated the recruitment of experts to oversee training and develop strategic frameworks across Bank Directorates and Departments, ensuring alignment with the international standards.

In attendance were BoSS’ First Deputy Governor, Hon. Samuel Yanga Mikaya, Director General for Banking Operations, Dr. Chan Andrea Chan, representatives of the Bankers Association, Financial Intelligence Unit, Chamber of Commerce, and Consultants of the 3SF project, among others.
The 3SF project continues to play a vital role in strengthening South Sudan’s financial sector and advancing sustainable development.
