Governor Damian attends Eastern Africa Constituency meeting of African Development Bank Group
Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire, 27th May 2025-Bank of South Sudan Governor, Hon. Johnny Ohisa Damian, joined on Tuesday his counterparts Central Bank Governors and Finance Ministers at annual meetings of the African Development Bank Group.

Hon. Damian attended an ordinary meeting of the Eastern Africa Constituency of the African Development Bank on the sideline of the Annual Meetings of the Board of Governors in Abidjan. The meeting, chaired by Rwandan Minister of Finance and Economic Development Hon. Yusuf Murangwa, focused on advancing shared aspirations, fostering collaboration, and discussing strategies for regional economic integration and sustainable growth in the continent.
The constituency governors discussed the report presented by the Executive Director Jonathan Nzayikorera, ADF resource allocation, and the ADF-17 replenishment cycle. They also discussed the election process for the African Development Bank’s President.

Thus far, the Steering Committee cleared a list of candidates for the upcoming election on 29 May 2025, including Senegal’s Hott Amadou, Zambia’s Dr. MAIMBO Samuel Munzele, Mauritania’s TAH Sidi Ould; Chad’s TOLLI Abbas Mahamat, and South Africa’s TSHABALALA Bajabulile Swazi.
Lastly, the Eastern Africa constituency restructured, with Seychelles nominating a new Executive Director, Tanzania appointing an Alternate Executive Director, and Eritrea and South Sudan nominating a Senior Advisor and an Advisor to the executive director, respectively.
