IMF, BoSS Deepen Engagement on Transparency and Capacity Building

Juba, January 29th, 2026-The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Resident Representative, Arsene Kaho, has congratulated, Hon. Johnny Ohisa Damian, Governor of the Bank of South Sudan (BoSS) on his re-appointment, reaffirming the IMF’s continued support for the country’s banking and financial sector reform efforts, including capacity building for BoSS staff.


Discussions further covered the IMF’s Emergency Financing Facility, which would be contingent on the successful completion of the Staff-Monitored Program (SMP) and Debt Sustainability Analysis (DSA).
They pledged to meet regularly to strengthen working relations, and to advance banking reforms and financial services in the country.
