IMF mission chief visits Bank of South Sudan

Juba, 4th December 2023–The IMF delegation, led by Mr. Niko Hobdari, the IMF mission Chief to South Sudan, discussed today, Monday, with the Governor, Bank of South Sudan (BoSS), Hon. Dr. James Alic Garang, a host of instrumental issues, including the need to complete Program Monitoring with Board Involvement (PMB) in line with Article (IV)Consultation and Assess of the progress for Extended Credit Facility.
Both parties tackled several issues covering the term deposit facility, foreign exchange rate, treasury bills, general audit reports, communication on the monetary policy, auction measures, national payment system, and other instrumental banking tools.
Mr. Hobdari was accompanied by Guy Jenkinson, IMF resident representative for South Sudan, and Jules Leichter, senior economist. Meanwhile, Governor Alic was flanked by his two deputies, Hon. Samuel Yanga, and Hon. Nyiel Gordon Kuol, and DG for Supervision, Research and Statistics, Mr. Marial Mabeny Bawuor.
