The delegation led by Minister of Finance and Planning, Hon. Dr. Barnaba Baak arrived on Monday in Juba after attending World Bank Group (WBG) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Annual meetings, held in Marrakech, Morocco.
In a statement, Dr. Baak said the annual meetings brought together the Finance ministers and Governors of the Central Banks to discuss issues of global concern, notably the world’s economic outlook.
Regarding South Sudan, the minister said, “We are recovering and doing our best to restore the economy on its wheels.”
For his part, the Governor of Bank of South Sudan (BoSS), Hon. Dr. James Alic Garang, said that annual meetings focused on the challenges and remedies, with a view to restore the global financial stability, eradicate poverty, and achieve inclusive economic growth, as well as creating jobs and addressing the climate change, among others.
