Juba, 21 Wednesday 2025 – The Governor of Bank of South Sudan (BoSS), Hon. Johnny Ohisa Damian, met with United Kingdom Ambassador H.E. David Ashley to discuss economic reforms aimed at strengthening South Sudan’s economy. The talks covered Public Financial Management (PFM), economic diversification, and how the UK can support South Sudan within legal frameworks.

“This was a productive visit. We discussed key areas that will be beneficial not only to the Central Bank but to the nation. We look forward to continued engagements, including how the UK can support us here or through international platforms like the IMF,” said Governor Damian.

Ambassador David Ashley reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to South Sudan’s economic development. “Economic stability is essential, especially in a country like South Sudan. Effective public financial management and building confidence in the government’s ability to utilize resources from oil revenues to international aid are vital,” he said.

He also stressed the importance of investing in public services. “The UK remains a steadfast partner, particularly in the areas of health, education, and humanitarian support. Our assistance will be even more impactful if South Sudan continues to make effective use of its resources,” Ambassador Ashley added.
