BoSS welcomes Governor Yeni

Juba, Nov. 18, 2025–The newly appointed governor of Bank of South Sudan (BoSS), said on Monday at the BoSS headquarters that he was back to settle an issue, amid applause and cheers from the staff.
Hon. Yeni Samuel Costa, a seasoned banker, replaced Hon. Dr. Addis Ababa Othow, as the new governor.
“I served 38 years, respect regulations and laws, “pledging that he would not work alone as the new journey commences here,” he added.

Hon. Yeni, who did not mince his words, vowed the management would find out where the SSP has been hoarded. “We must win back trust in our currency to make it valuable again, while promoting digitalization.”
He cited the example of the US where the digital payment has been optimized.
Hon. Yeni declared he would comply with the rules and regulations, warning the staff to avoid politics. “Otherwise, we will show you the door to where politics is.”
He pledged to cooperate with the staff but cautioned that “any violations of regulations would be penalized.”
The governor underscored that justice is of paramount importance. Indicating that the staff should be treated equal as they are the main assets of the BoSS.
First Deputy Governor, Hon. Samuel Yanga Mikaya thanked the President Salva Kiir Mayardit on bestowing trust on Hon. Yeni, adding that the newly appointed governor was only on leave and is now back.

He briefed the governor on the latest developments, citing the liquidity problem that affects the digital payment system.
The family representative, Antonieta Benjamin thanked president Kiir on the appointment of Governor Yeni.
She also thanked on behalf of the people of Raga and chair of the community, the staff of BoSS. Mrs.
Benjamin urged Hon Yeni to take care of staff and verse versa.
In attendance were the board members and the family representatives.
