Governor Ohisa, Four MDs of Commercial Banks Discuss Liquidity Concern

JUBA, June 10, 2026 — Bank of South Sudan, held discussions with Managing Directors of four commercial banks on addressing liquidity shortages and improving cash availability within the financial system.

The MDs of KCB, Ecobank, Alpha Bank, and Afriland First Bank expressed full support for efforts to ease cash shortages and stabilize currency circulation. Governor Hon. Johnny Ohisa commended the banks for their continued efforts to strengthen liquidity management and enhance stability across the financial sector. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to closer coordination to improve liquidity management and ensure wider access to cash nationwide.
