AfDB Annual Meetings Conclude in Brazzaville, Congo

DAY ONE:

On the first day, the South Sudan delegation joined African finance leaders and development partners in discussions on development financing, job creation, infrastructure development, and regional integration at the AfDB Annual Meetings.

South Sudan’s delegation was led by the Governor of the Bank of South Sudan, Hon. Johnny Ohisa Damian, alongside the Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning, Hon. Thok Truk, and other officials.

DAY TWO:

On the second day, Governor Ohisa and Deputy Minister Truk met AfDB Acting Vice President Dr. Abdul Kamara to review development projects and strengthen cooperation, as AfDB commended South Sudan for allocating land for the construction of the AfDB country office headquarters.

DAY THREE:

On the third day, Governor Ohisa reaffirmed South Sudan’s commitment to peace, economic growth, and sustainable development during the Governors’ Dialogue at the AfDB Annual Meetings.

DAY FOUR:

On the fourth day, Governor Ohisa and AfDB Vice President Solomon Quaynor discussed expanding support for South Sudan’s private sector as AfDB plans an investment assessment mission to South Sudan to identify opportunities in key economic sectors.

DAY FIVE:

On the fifth day, the African Development Bank (AfDB) Annual Meetings concluded in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, after five days of high-level discussions on economic growth, infrastructure development, climate resilience, regional integration, and financing Africa’s development priorities.n

The meetings brought together Finance Ministers, Central Bank Governors, policymakers, development partners, and private sector leaders from across the continent.
