Bangkok, Thailand, October 12, 2026- -Bank of South Sudan Governor Hon. Dr. Addis Ababa Othow has joined fellow African central bank governors at a high-level session hosted by African Development Bank Group President Dr. Sidi Ould Tah on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Group Annual Meetings.
Discussions focused on the New African Financial Architecture for Development, which aims to place African capital and institutions at the centre of financing the continent’s development.
The African Development Bank Group presented three key pillars to strengthen financial cooperation, including increased investment by African central banks in the Bank’s securities, expanded local currency lending through liquidity partnerships, and the establishment of a treasury advisory and asset management platform to enhance investment management and institutional capacity.
The governors welcomed the proposals and called for practical implementation, further technical discussions on legal requirements and investment eligibility, and stronger intra-African trade.
