Central Bank Hosts 17th East African Procurement Forum in Juba

Juba, May 11, 2026- –Vice President and Chairperson of the Economic Cluster, H.E. Dr. James Wani Igga, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening public procurement systems to promote transparency, efficiency, accountability, and accuracy in the fight against corruption.
Dr. Igga made the remarks during the opening ceremony of the 17th East African Procurement Forum, hosted by the Bank of South Sudan (BoSS) at its modern conference hall in Juba.

The four-day forum, running from May 11-14, 2026, is being held under the theme: “Enhancing Beneficial Ownership Disclosure in Public Procurement Systems.”

The event has brought together delegates from East African Community (EAC) member states, including representatives from the public sector, civil society, training institutions, private sector, and professional organizations.
The forum aims to promote experience-sharing and strengthen strategies for improving and harmonizing public procurement systems across the region.


Among the dignitaries attending the event are the Minister of East African Community Affairs, Hon. Pieng Deng Kuol, Minister of Finance and Planning, Hon. Kuol Daniel Ayulo, the First Deputy Governor for Policy and Banking at the Bank of South Sudan, Hon. Tong Akec, First Undersecretary of Finance Malual Tap Dieu and other senior government officials.
