EAC Monetary Affairs Meeting Opens in Uganda

Kampala, July 20, 2026– -The 29th Ordinary Meeting of the East African Community (EAC) Monetary Affairs Committee (MAC) has opened in Kampala, Uganda, bringing together technical officials from regional central banks to discuss monetary and financial sector issues.



The Bank of South Sudan is participating in the four-day meeting, which runs from July 20-23, 2026.
The Bank’s delegation is led by the Director General for Research and Economic Analysis, Mr. Abugo Charles Joseph, and includes the Director General for Information and Technology, James Luba Samuel; Director of Financial Markets, Grace Araba; Director of the National Payment Systems, David Akum Sabahker; and Director of Risk and Compliance Management, Manyok John Gabriel, among other senior officials.
Following the technical discussions, Governors of the Central Banks will join the meeting on July 24, 2026, to sign the communique.
The participation of the Bank of South Sudan underscores its commitment to regional collaboration, financial stability, and stronger monetary cooperation.
