Government delegation inspects agricultural schemes

Terekeka-County, 6th January 2024–The high-profile-government delegation toured on Saturday the Eden Agricultural Schemes and supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food security.

Led by the Senior Presidential Envoy on Special Programmes, Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel, the delegation included Minister of Finance and Planning, Hon. Dr. Baak Barnaba Chol Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Dr. Joseph Geng and Governor of Bank of South Sudan, Hon Dr. James Alic Garang.

Dr. Baak stressed the importance of production and road connectivity, noting that the success of these schemes would help dispense services to the community such as special maternity clinics for the women and others.

Minister of Youth and Sports called for youth to unite and produce to spur the development. “There is time for sports and productivity to enhance development,’’ he said.

For his part, Governor Alic underscored the need for production that will lead to the sustainable economic development. “If there is sufficient food production within the country, then we cannot be importing, rather we can export and get the Foreign exchange. That means we will be economically stable.”
