IMF pays courtesy visit to Bank of South Sudan

IMF representative visiting South Sudan recently held talks with the bank’s top management on Public Finance Management (PFM) as part of her wider mission to the country. Catherine Anne Maria came to follow up with the authorities including the bank, on engagement with the IMF and the recently concluded annual Meetings of the IMF/ WBG in Washington. The meeting focused on recent developments and the ongoing reforms at BoSS. She commended the the positive progress that has been made with regards to the halting of deficit financing and the introduction of other monetary policy instruments, such as the recently introduced Term Deposit – among other developments. She conveyed the readiness of the IMF to expand cooperation and provide the necessary support to the bank. Hon. Governor Johnny Damian Ohisa assured the commitment of BoSS to continue with the ongoing reforms and more transparency in order to alleviate the plight of fellow country men and women.
