South Sudan, IMF Strengthen Ties

Washington, D.C., 2nd Friday, 2025 – Following the conclusion of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington, the government delegation, led by the National Minister of Finance and Planning, Hon. Dr. Marial Dongrin Ater, and the Governor of Bank of South Sudan (BoSS), Hon. Johnny Ohisa Damian, continued high-level engagements meeting with IMF leaders on Friday.

The discussions focused on areas of cooperation, mutual benefit, policy guidance, and experience sharing between the IMF and South Sudan’s financial institutions.
The South Sudanese delegation held talks with IMF First Deputy Managing Director Dr. Gita Gopinath and IMF Mission Chief Dr. Astou Diuf, exploring avenues to strengthen collaboration and enhance South Sudan’s financial and economic frameworks.
