Juba, June 27, 2023–The Vice President for Infrastructure Cluster, His Excellency, General Taban Deng Gai, urged the Bank of South Sudan (BoSS) on Tuesday to give priority to merit as it seeks to implement its strategic plan for 2023–2027.
General Gai was speaking during the launching of BoSS’ strategic plan ceremony held at Radisson Blu Hotel in Juba.
He urged the Bank’s leadership to recruit qualified staff during the five years of rolling out the strategic plan if the BoSS wants to get it right.
“When you want to recruit, recruit those who are supposed to work in the Bank. Fight nepotism and favoritism. These are the two diseases that are killing South Sudan,” Taban cautioned.
For his part, the Governor of BoSS, Hon. Johnny Ohisa, said the strategy will define performance of BoSS for the next five-year strategy 2023 – 2027. “It is the guideline and the roadmap for the Bank.
The governor underscored that the second strategic plan 2023 – 2027 will correct the loopholes and gaps of the first strategy 2018 – 2022.
“We thanked the Banks of Uganda and Rwanda for helping us to develop this strategy, “he noted.
