UK Amb Pays Courtesy Visit to Central Bank

Juba, April 30, 2026- -The United Kingdom Ambassador to South Sudan, H.E. David Ashley, paid a courtesy visit on Thursday to Governor, Bank of South Sudan (BoSS) Hon. Johnny Ohisa Damian.
Ambassador Ashley and Governor Ohisa discussed ways to strengthen cooperation, particularly in the areas of liquidity management and monetary policy.

The BoSS Governor briefed the ambassador on strategies to address ongoing liquidity concerns, citing the recent allocation of cash to the commercial banks to facilitate salary payments and enable depositors access their funds more easily.

He also highlighted South Sudan’s participation in the recent IMF-World Bank Group Spring Meetings held in Washington, D.C. Governor Ohisa noted that the donor conference for South Sudan was also held on the sideline of the meetings, which aimed at identifying ways to support the country.
