Economic Cluster Endorses Financial Sector Strategy

Juba, June 3rd, 2026- –The Economic Cluster, chaired by Vice President Dr. James Wani Igga, has endorsed the Financial Sector Strategy following a detailed presentation by the Bank of South Sudan (BoSS) on the findings of the Financial Sector Diagnostic Studies and Strategy.
The presentation was delivered by the Governor of the Bank of South Sudan, Hon. Johnny Ohisa Damian, together with his technical team under the South Sudan Strengthening Financial Sector (3SF) Project, supported by the World Bank.
The strategy outlines key findings of the diagnostic studies, main pillars and strategic focus areas, recommendations, and courses of action.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Lily Albino Akol, said the strategy is aimed at addressing recapitalization measures, improving liquidity management, repayment of credit advice and building up reserves to support overall economic stability.
The endorsed diagnostic studies and strategy is expected to be tabled in an upcoming Council of Ministers meeting for further consideration.
